Temperature-dependent charging control for Dometic PerfectCharge MCA battery chargers
The Dometic PerfectCharge MCA-TS1 temperature sensor is designed as an accessory for battery chargers from the PerfectCharge MCA series. It measures the battery temperature and enables the connected MCA battery charger to adjust the charging voltage according to the measured temperature.
This is particularly beneficial when charging batteries under strongly fluctuating or extreme ambient temperatures and helps optimize the charging process according to the prevailing temperature conditions.
Optimized battery charging at high and low temperatures
At high temperatures, the charging voltage is adjusted accordingly to help prevent problems caused by increased battery gassing. At low temperatures, the charging control is also adjusted to support a complete battery charge.
The MCA-TS1 therefore adds temperature-dependent charging control to the PerfectCharge MCA battery charger and helps ensure optimal battery charging under varying ambient conditions.
Original Dometic accessory for the PerfectCharge MCA series
The MCA-TS1 temperature sensor is connected to the TEMP/LIN connection of the compatible PerfectCharge MCA battery charger. The charger then automatically adjusts the charging voltage according to the measured temperature.
