The CAM 1000 camera is used for camera-based turn assist to support the driver when turning right. It is mounted above the passenger window and features a ball joint for easy adjustment.

The camera detects objects moving at an angle of 0° (parallel to the vehicle and in the direction of travel) to approximately 45° (sideways to the vehicle). The object must be moving faster than the vehicle. However, the system cannot detect obscured objects, and object detection is limited in darkness. Repeating structures, such as construction fencing, can trigger detection. Strong shadows that behave similarly to moving objects can also trigger detection.

The captured image is processed by the camera's control unit. Objects moving in the same direction as the vehicle are detected and indicated on the monitor with a movement arrow. The arrow moves with the detected object and serves as a visual signal. An audible warning signal can also be added.

This product is suitable only for the specified purpose and application according to these instructions and does not relieve the driver of their duty to exercise caution when turning at any time. The driver always bears full responsibility for operating a vehicle and thus for fulfilling their obligations regarding road safety and compliance with the relevant legal regulations.

The CAM1000 actively detects moving objects (e.g., pedestrians, cyclists) as well as stationary objects (e.g., lampposts) in the blind spot area and warns of potential hazards. Important Note:

The Dometic user manual (see the "PDF" tab) contains a note (dated November 2019) stating that in Germany and Austria, the CAM1000 camera could only be used with the Dometic M75LXAHD monitor. This note is no longer valid and was originally related to a government funding program for logistics and mobility, which ended on November 28, 2025.
Therefore, the CAM1000 camera can be used with any other compatible monitor model.
